Serving sweet justice at Clare’s Cops & Doughnuts

We stopped by Clare’s iconic Cops & Doughnuts Bakery today. One-hundred percent owned by nine local police officers who purchased the City Bakery in 2009, Cops & Doughnuts is a must see stop on any travelers beat around Mid-Michigan.  Aside from the world-class bakery,  there is the nifty Traffic Stop Diner, a well-stocked gift shop, and displays of police department patches and other law enforcement artifacts from around the country.

So, next time you are patroling US 10 or US 127, book some time in downtown Clare to taste these mouth-watering doughnuts and other sweets. They are guilty as charged and darn proud of it!

  1. I have never been so welcome as I was over 5 l/2 years ago. We love each and everyone of the owners and staff. Everything is fresh, and better than I’ve experienced elsewhere. Not only do they make great bakery goods, but have their own brand of Cops Coffee, an eat in diner, and a great place to shop for yourself or a gift. My husband and I drive 100 miles round trip, just for a meal, great friendship, goodies and hugs. Maybe you’ll see me for your hug. “Cops Grandma”.
