Even with the unusually mild start to winter this season, it was quite surprising to see there was no ice on the West Arm of Grand Traverse Bay when I took this reflective image Sunday afternoon. The soft ripples of blue waters above the stony lakeshore bottom was so captivating that I couldn’t resist.
The mirrored addition of my shadow adds an intriguing nuance to the scene. Without further information, one would likely never guess this image was taken in early January at 45 North latitude.
One of my favorite aspects of living “Up North” is the chance to thoughtfully reflect at so many scenic locations. This particular photograph is from the Bayfront Promenade in downtown Traverse City. Enjoy my friends!
